We spent the majority of last weekend out in the backyard, grilling and soaking up the sun.
We did however, have some difficulty blowing up the new pool. Who knew that the pump would have to charge for 12 hours before you could use it. We tried to air it up with a bicycle pump, but eventually gave up and waited the 12 hours.
While we waited Jose made some agua de sandia (watermelon juice-YUM) and Joslin played in her little duck pool from last year. She spent at least 30 minutes filling and dumping that cool whip container. At times she is easily amused.

Then Joslin got her first physics lesson in friction. (This one didn't involve Mr. Engel sliding down the lab table in his socks) We made our own water slide. Wow, it is amazing how much speed a little water can add.
And no day in the sun could be complete with out a little bit of ice cream.

Mmmm, watermelon juice looks like something I would like! I'll have to try some one day.
It is quite refreshing. Did you get to have something like that when you were in Brazil?
Nope, not something I've tried before.
